In 2018 I made a trade in my fantasy league because a rumor had spread about how one person felt about a player on their team. This, to me, had some verisimilitude with being a real GM and ever since I have felt the need to deepen that experience. One of the principal problems with a long term fantasy league is engagement, and I wanted to create a fun new way for people to engage with their leagues. Enter: WojBot.
WojBot is a bot built to honor the great Adrian Wojnarowski. He acts much like a reporter. Any GM can message the bot to leak a rumor to the "public" about something going on behind the scenes. If a person wants to trade a player, they could leak that the player requested a trade as a more humorous signal that they need to make changes. It adds another layer of engagement and lets people keep track of the league in new ways.
There's some other joke functionality in there, but it is able to calculate Elo ratings for basketball and football leagues. By next February I'll be able to have it run a draft lottery.
